I’ve had my double saxophone case for over a year now. I happened to see a review of it on YouTube and went into research mode! There is a seller on eBay who sells this NONAKA SKY CASE.
I chose this case because it shows the graphics on the case how that it meets the current guidelines for flight travel, making it a carry on. Who would have though you could carry two saxophones on a plane and stow them overhead?
As you can see below, the review on YouTube was very elaborate as the compartments were clearly visible. The durability and design were up to my judgment as to whether this alto saxophone and soprano saxophone case would meet my specifications.
- unique design
- ships fast from eBay seller overseas
- combines alto and soprano saxophone into one case
- reasonably priced
- counts as a carry on bag when flying
- case strap is not strong enough to support the weight of the case and saxophones
I appreciate this case for it’s strength to endure bumps and falls. It’s design makes it easy to carry and maneuver. I like the convenience of carrying my flagship saxophone (alto) along with the soprano and it done as compactly as possible! I don’t miss having to contend with the bulkiness of my DIY project of a joint saxophone case. It was effective, just bulky and huge! No longer must I worry about my saxophone being thrown by luggage handlers at the airports. I can have my horns by my side. I do not use the case strap as it has defected on me due to the weight of the case and saxes combined. That is the only disappointment.
I wholeheartedly recommend the Nonaka Sky Case though there are competitor cases.
